This set contains 18 home models. Each has 6 color variations. There are a total of 42 lots. The lots grow at stages 1, 2, and 3. Some homes are set at a 45 degree angle and are placed on corner lots. This package is intended to add variety to the beginning of the game. It also adds variety for those who enjoy rural region play where R$ residents reside. They will grow as long as there is demand for R$ and where there is low wealth desirability.
ChangeLog:
ChangeLog for Version 3 (September 2025):
- Version 2 briefly introduced a default template of the "Allow more Building Styles", but due to initial compatibility issues between some changes in PIM-X and the "Allow More Building Styles" project, the lots had to be updated to address these issues aka they have been reverted to their original form.
- general clean-up
- updated installer
- the previous iteration of the restored legacy pack has been significantly changed. While the Version 1 (and subsequently the Version 2) compiled the various lot files into respective *.DATs and combined the models with building exemplars into separate *.DAT files based on the names, Version 3 changes this dynamics as following:
- there is the introduction of BSC BATProps JMyers - Homes Pack.dat, which contains all of the house and foundation models (see the index image in the ~Documents folder)
- there are now newly added building props for each house, which are also organized into prop families based on the original building families
- the ***_Lots_v3.dat files are replacing both the original lot files and the lot files from Version 1-2. The Version 3 LOT files are now containing the relevant building exemplars. This is important for anybody who are using 3rd party re-Lots based on these building exemplars like SimCoug's re-Lots.
- The formerly included, then thematically datpacked prop packs (JFM_Carport_Props.dat, JFM_Commodore_Garage_Props.dat, JFM_Playset_Props.dat) have been REMOVED from the Version 2 and Version 3 as they have been part of the BSC MEGA Props - JMyers Common Props.dat since the release of the BSC Common Dependencies Pack Version 7
INSTALLATION:
This package utilizes a Java-based installer (similar to the one used with the Network Addon Mod), and can also be opened and installed manually using 7-Zip or Keka.
To install it, you'll either need the Java Runtime Environment to run the installer--Adoptium's open-source edition is recommended--or a zip tool capable of opening the installer to allow manual installation. For Windows/Linux, use 7-zip, and for macOS, use Keka.
Once into the installer, after agreeing to the terms for the package, click to the Files tab to select which files you wish to install (making no changes here will install everything). To expand options, click the small "+" next to the name of the section. Then, click to the Location tab to set up an installation location (this should be the root of your My Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins folder). After this, click over to the Install tab, and click "Start installation" to begin the installation procedure. When installation is complete, the tab pop up a message indicating it, after which you are safe to close the installer.
To avoid conflicts, please, it is highly recommended to use any of the third party cleanitol tools and remove any previous versions of the files from your plugins.
In the ~Documents folder in the Prop-Texture Catalogue Index and Cleanitol subfolder you will find the Cleanitol_SC4D LEX Legacy - JMyers Homes Pack V3.txt and by using either the newer nos.17's SC4 Cleanitol or the older BSC Cleanitol tool you can search and remove the old and outdated versions of these files. Again to avoid possible conflicts and glitches it is highly recommended to run either of these tools.
Bear in mind that this Collection contains dependency-like prop pack(s) only available with this upload. Those prop packs can be used and referenced as dependencies by other contents that may not part of this collection. If a 3rd party upload references one of the prop packs available in this Collection, you don't need to install everything, you can select and install only the referenced prop pack. All prop packs (and the lot packs as well) have individual cleanitol files (besides the Cleanitol_SC4D LEX Legacy - JMyers Homes Pack V3.txt) and they have Prop Catalogue index images as a help for lotters.
